Although primarily a defense company, Lockheed Martin also invests in healthcare systems, renewable energy systems, intelligent energy distribution, and compact nuclear fusion. However, it is in the area of defense that it is most active. The company is one of the largest aerospace, military support, and security operations in the world. It has been reported that as much as half of its revenues come from US government contracts alone, with foreign government contracts and commercial contracts contributing significant sums to its revenue mix.
