Kohl's is headquartered in the Milwaukee suburb of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The company was founded in 1962 by Matthew Kohl. As of December 2021, it was the largest department store chain in the US, with 1,165 locations, operating stores in every US state except Hawaii. The company is listed on both the S&P 400 and the Fortune 500.
